ABOUT ME
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
After graduating from BYU (Provo, UT) with a degree in Advertising, I began my professional career at MRM//McCann (I worked 7 years in the SLC, UT office), working my way up from production assistant to account manager. As an account manager I developed business accounts with our ExxonMobil client through tight collaboration with their marketing teams, as well as my internal MRM//McCann strategists, creative teams, finance, and production team. This experience gave me an understanding of the importance of strong communication when leading out projects with multiple team members and the need for clearly defining business goals. The experience of working with many different personalities and gaining consensus among a diverse group of people has been invaluable.
I’m proud of the work I was able to do during my time at MRM//McCann, and loved working in the agency environment, but being a creative person, I wasn’t experiencing the career satisfaction I would hope to as an account manager, and wanted to be applying that creativity in a more tangible way. While at MRM//McCann I worked on several projects with our UX team and my eyes were opened. I loved the kind of thinking they were doing and how they were solving problems through design. It felt like the perfect marriage of the business skills I had developed and the creativity I craved.
I ended up pursuing the UX Design dream and completed the UX Immersive full time course at DevMountain, where I learned the design thinking process and applied it to multiple projects. I fell in love with the process and felt validated in my decision to make the career transition.
After DevMountain, I began doing freelance work that eventually led to a UX Designer position with CityGro, a business that provides customer retention marketing solutions. I was brought on to optimize the UX of CityGro’s portal, which gives customers access to set up and customize the different tools of CityGro’s offering (CRM tools, kiosk flows, digital waivers, TextChat (SMS chatting between businesses and customers), automations, and blast messaging). I’ve completed multiple projects to improve the portal experience, mainly helping customers to be more self-sufficient without leaning so heavily on CityGro’s Customer Success team. Another big initiative I worked on was designing the process for self signup or upgrade of product packages. It was a great experience and I loved working on this product and with this team.
I’ve spent the past 5 years designing Multifamily Housing Property Management product for Rent Dynamics and Entrata. For Rent Dynamics, I worked specifically on CRM and RentPlus (rent reporting) products, and at Entrata, I’ve been tasked with building new product within the CRM (LeadManager and Message Center). I continue to hone my process and have started to employ more AI tooling throughout to get to the root of the problem faster.
VIDEOS
I enjoy making videos of my kids. It’s fun to let the camera roll and then go back and make edits that are visually interesting to me. I usually post them on my Instagram. Here are a few:
PHOTOGRAPHY
I take pictures of my kids, as well. I enjoy photography and documenting both adventures and the ordinary.
MY FAMILY
I live with these people. Best roommates I’ve ever had.

BASKETBALL / NBA
I love playing basketball and following the NBA. I’m a fan of the league as a whole, but root for the Phoenix Suns on their better days (I grew up in Northern Virginia and have lived in Utah for a long time now and have no geographical/familial ties to Arizona and have only visited the state twice, so it’s kind of an odd choice). Steve Nash is my all-time favorite Suns player and he will be difficult to top. I think it’s worth noting that I have never seen the Suns win a game that I’ve attended (~20 games)
MOVIES
I like to watch movies. A new tradition of mine is going to a triple feature on my birthday. I like the storytelling aspect, the ability movies have of transporting you to different worlds, beautiful cinematography, and sometimes a good laugh. The movie I mention the most often as my “favorite” is Terrence Malick’s “The Thin Red Line”, but I’m keeping an open mind.
MUSIC
I enjoy listening to music and attending live performances. In high school I started to attend punk shows with only a few other kids in the audience and then Warped Tour became an annual summer activity for a few years. Since then, I’ve attended larger productions in venues of all sizes. No matter the place, I always enjoy the feeling of sharing an experience with a bunch of strangers and the connection that brings. Some of my favorite concerts I’ve attended were Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem (Lehi, UT) in 2007 and Animal Collective (Las Vegas, NV) in 2009. Both were “right place, right time” since I was at the height of my appreciation for all the bands mentioned and I went with friends who felt the same.
